My current body of prints focuses on miniscule aspects of landscape that typify the environment I am describing. I abstractly create a rendition of that space through repeated shapes, details, color and patterns found in my selected ecosystem. Using stencils and masks in combination with my precisely cut woodblocks, I make multi- layered unique images. Using lichens as a subject, my prints examine the fragility of our environment and how it is threatened by climate change/global warming, industrial exploitation, and overpopulation. My intention is to bring awareness of important environmental issues, while depicting the spiritual beauty that exists within landscape.
