Using lichens as a subject, this print examines the fragility of our environment and how it is threatened by climate change/global warming, industrial exploitation, and overpopulation. Lichens, some of the earth’s oldest beings, are born from reciprocity and found within wide ranging landscapes, with the exception of underwater ecosystems. These overlooked, beautiful specimens are life in its most basic forms, representing all that we endure, with survival measured by simplicity, persistence and strength, while climate change and environmental stress permeate around them.
